Avon B7 Inflation / Deflation Valves

Avon B7 Air Valves. Of the 3 valves Avon used, this valve is the second vintage and used on Avon’s roughly from the 1980’s. We advise purchasing the B7 Valve Repair kit, instead of this valve, in related products below.

• Please consider purchasing the B7 valve repair kit in related products below, as this valve is extremely difficult to install because you would need to cut a hole in your boat in order to access and remove the old valve.
• Of the 3 valves Avon used (A7, B7 and C7) this is the second vintage used on boats roughly from the 80’s.
• You can simply identify your valve by visually looking at the cap. If your cap has a circle on top with 3 points emerging from that circle, this is the correct valve. B7 valve repair kits are listed in related products below.
• If you need to replace the valve in it’s entirety, we recommend the more current C7 valve listed in related products below as it will also be a difficult install but moving forward will be easier to replace.

Two Part Adhesive

1. Before you begin, keep in mind that the inflatable tube opening required for both of the B7 and the C7 valves are very similar.
2. The first thing to do is make a 3 inch incision in the pontoon near the floor of the boat and in line with the B7 Valve.
3. Holding the exterior portion of the valve (valve cap side), reach into the tube through the incision and grab the inner base of the B7 Valve.
4. While holding the exterior portion of the valve, unscrew the inner base of the B7 valve by turning it counter clock wise. Remove and discard both portions of the B7 valve.
5. Unscrew the base of the C7 valve. Take the base of the C7 in one hand, reach into the through the incision and line the base of the C7 valve up with the hole from the removed A7/B7 valve, using your free hand, screw the exterior portion of the C7 valve into the C7 Base.
6. Tight firmly using the C7 valve wrench.
7. Patch the incision with fabric and a two part adhesive per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
